Originally from Silver Spring, MD, Lillian Di Piazza began her dance training with the Maryland Youth Ballet, under the direction of Michelle Lees and Tensia Fonseca. She studied there for 10 years and performed in ballets such as Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, and Paquita. Ms. Di Piazza also attended summer intensive programs at Miami City Ballet, School of American Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet (on full scholarship).

In 2007, Ms. Di Piazza studied at The School of American Ballet for one year. There, she performed George Balanchine's The Nutcracker™ and Fanfare by Jerome Robbins. She performed Concerto Barocco with SAB at the Kennedy Center as part of the Proteges program. Ms. Di Piazza also choreographed a pas de quatre to music by Philip Glass for The School of American Ballet Student Choreographic Workshop. She was the 2007 NFAA (National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts) Winner in Dance.

Ms. Di Piazza joined Pennsylvania Ballet II in 2008, was promoted to Apprentice for the 2009-2010 Season, and to the Corps de Ballet for the 2011-2012 Season. Her featured roles with the company have included the Pas de Trois in Christopher Wheeldon's Swan Lake.
